“Bringing the Mega home again…”

Nukeproof has a strong history with the Megavalanche. The event on the slopes of Pic Blanc inspired our “all mountain/ enduro” bike, event taking the name the “Mega” from this event.

Alp D’Huez is becoming an annual pilgrimage now for the team to return to to compete at the crazy event. Being mid season it’s awesome for our nomadic teams and athletes too all meet up and hang in the village, ride with staff and customers and just enjoy the vibe of the event. (for the Tech savvy you will maybe see some fresh kit getting tested too).

For the past 2 years Nukeproof has proudly supported the Megavalanche as the bike sponsor for the event. Whilst not a huge presence on site, Event title sponsor Chain Reaction Cycles will feature Nukeproof’s on their demo set up by the main DMC to test some our latest bikes. The Nukeproof team themselves will be on the hill- so drop us a line to say hi, look out for the team kits and photographer on the hill.

Nukeproof group rides- Meet the team:

I’m sure we will create a ride out. in 2017 we ran the “ride to Oz” with the legend Sam Hill, in 2018 we ran “Drop from the top” a pre-practise drop into the slush. For 2019 we will think of something equally causal and an excuse to meet and ride with customers (and give away a few prizes/ freebies)…

The Athletes:

In 2019 we return with our team of Senior Womens 2018 Megavalanche winner Sandra Rubesam, Vanzac and Australians next top Model Jackson Davis, Staffordshires finest export Luke Cryer and the yoga master, CRC-Mavic athlete and now Mega veteran Kelan Grant. Our Youthful looking Wideopen DH and Enduro team will also be joining us to add into the fun.

Sandra Rubesam enjoying the vibes of the Megavalanche- much more than just a race….

By the time we reach July we will also be adding to this list with more athletes and some specially invited media starlets.  We will usually run a ride out with the staff and athletes so be great to see you there.

Here’s Sam Hill’s run from 2 years ago (Sam flatted in qualifying whilst leading and started mid pack in a weather shortened race):

See You There:

If your heading out there as a Nukeproof rider drop us a line and let us know, we try and take a few spares to help out fellow Nukeproof riders and potentially have the odd freebie.

Be sure to register for the race here

Nukeproof are proud sponsor of the Megavalanche and can’t wait to see you all for more madness in July….
