2017 was unbelievable, 2018 was just insane, 3 titles Enduro World Series titles in 2 years for the Nukeproof Mega 275.
How can 2019 top that?
The 2019 Enduro Wold Series season is kicking off this coming weekend in Rotorua New Zealand and one things for sure the new Mega team CRC-Mavic race bikes look awesome!
Fresh livery and fresh bikes for the 2019 CRC-Mavic team but with a familiar feel. Sam Hill, Elliott Heap and Kelan Grant all return for another assault on the title, with manager Nigel Page at the helm. The all conquering Mega 275c and 290 frames make a return (The same frame that you or I can buy off the shelf short) in a stunning Nukeproof Yellow factory finish.
We/ Nukeproof will once again be supplying the team with the latest Mega frames and our premium tier Horizon and Sam Hill Signature component line up including Horizon Handlebars, stem, Saddles, CS clipless pedals and Sam Hill Signature flat pedals). For 2019 we will also be supporting the team with our Nukeproof casual clothing line.
The 2019 Mega’s will be once again equiped with the awesome Mavic Deemax wheelsets and the latest SRAM-Rockshox products. Michelin return for the another year with some fresh rubber. There is a fresh look on ridewear from kit sponsor Mavic.
2019 see’s Sam Hill go for an unprecedented title hat-trick. Since his switch from Downhill 2 years ago, Sam has redefined Enduro with his own unique style. Sam has stamped his own brand of dominance on enduro, doing things his way and is unquestionable one of the greatest riders in the history of the sport.
His flat pedal style and devastating skill, speed and consistency have earned him 6 victories on his signature Nukeproof flat pedal shod Mega 275c and the 2017 and 2018 title.
Joining Sam in the elite category this year will be 2018 U21 World Champion Elliott Heap. The rapid Wigan’er (with dubious casual footwear choice) will be looking to make his mark on the overall leader board.
Elliot is one of the most naturally gifted and skilful riders on the circuit, his bag of car park tricks is equal to any on the scene and he has the pace to mix it with the top 10 racers in 2018.
Not just content to just race enduro, keep an eye out for Elliott at select downhill and 4x races. Elliott will be on a Medium Mega 275c running a full compliment of Nukeproof Horizon components including Horizon CS clipless pedals.
Returning for a 2nd year on the team is Irish yoga master Kelan “Jurgen” Grant. The 2017 Irish National champion will be out to put in some performances on his Mega 290. Some promising 2018 stage times show that the big man has the speed.
A mixture of training in the Northern Irish Mourn’s with training partner Greg Callaghan and a month in Queenstown, New Zealand with Elliott has reinvigorated his riding and be sure to keep a look to for Kelan (and his impromptu Yoga moves on the team mates Instagram accounts).
Heading the team will once again be mountain bike legend Mr Nigel Page. Nige will also be between the tape in the masters category, as well as the team chef and bus driver.
On the track Nige will be using his Mega 275c and his signature old school flat out style to take on the pro’est and most competitive category of the Enduro World Series.
As ever behind the scenes Sam will be supported by long term mechanical magician Jacy Schmilak. A genius on the spanners and a stickler for detail, Jacy will be backing up Sam and the team 110%.
On the media side we welcome Kike Abelleria to the team, joining fellow Spaniard Salva Moreno (Traxx media) on the camera’s.
We will have full bike checks on each riders Mega coming soon.
