“World Cup 2017 kicks off”
2017 Downhill World Cup kicked off this weekend in typical fashion; Amazing fans, the fastest riders, some crushing lows and controversial talking points.
Lourdes, France- the opening race for the past 2 seasons and a track the riders love and the fans pilgrimage to. our man Mike Jones has excelled here in the past taking his only world cup podium in 2015. But, like with the first two EWS rounds it seems that practise is in awesome weather and the race day is some what challenging!
With an awesome pre-season behind them, Elliott Heap and Mike Jones were peaking for the roll out of the 2017 World Cup Season. Lourdes, France the location- an amazing track situated on the French side of the Pyrenees, made up of a mix of Natural, fresh sections and some man made berms/ features. On track walk day the team looked stoked (despite the presence of Snow at the top of the hill).

Filmsmiths Track walk edit with the team:
Elliott #94 looked fast and smooth in his first Elite Mountain Bike World Cup
Risks of racing- Unfortunately a crash in final practise broke a bone in Mikes wrist ruling him out till Andorra- Seriously gutted for Mike after he has put so much work into his training this winter, but be sure he will be back.
Finals Day team edit:
Next up will be EWS Maderia and Ireland followed by the Fort William World cup. Mike Jones may be missing this round but Elliott will be joined by Sam Hill.
