“Crankworx Garbo DH”

So this wasn’t suppose to happen..

Whilst out at Crankworx, we had a few products for Sam Hill to test. Having Sam’s feel for a biek is super important to Nukeproof’s product development and Whistler was one of the few venues we had the time to test with Sam. Instead of just riding the Downhill prototype, Sam decided to grab a last minute entry to the Garbo DH “just race it”. It’s been over a year since Sam sat on a Downhill bike let alone raced one (Fort William World Cup 2017).

The Garbo DH track is brutal, the longest of the Downhill races at Crankworx. After a few runs to get use to the new bikes feel, the travel and the track, he felt ok, not super comfey as he does on his Mega 275c, but in his words with a few set up changes he would “give it a go”.

With a stacked field of World Cup racers Sam put on a master class. Not even a Photographer on his line (who stands on an inside line when Sam Hill is on course)! Crossing the line his first thoughts were to ask for a re run due to the track visitor impeding his line, only to find out seconds later that he was the winner!
