Pinkbike: Did you think at all about clipping in since there’s so much more pedaling than a DH race?
Interview with Sam Hill after winning the final stage of the Roturua Enduro.
Designed and developed with our legendary flat pedal athlete Sam Hill, there is no more demanding test pilot in the world. Sam was backed up by fellow flat pedal ace’s and team mates Joe Smith and Nigel Page to form a development team second to none.
The new pedal was conceived to be lighter, stronger and offer the best contact point for the team’s Five Ten’s. The new pedal body has a slight concave in shape and has shaved approximately 36g off the original Neutrons weight, whilst offering a wider and more effective platform for your foot.
On the alloy version’s of the Horizon we have a uniquely designed pin, to offer optimum strength and function. You also can adjust the height of the pin allowing increased concave where needed by removing the washer underneath the pin head. At maximum thread, you will run the same depth of pin that Jacy (Sam’s Mechanic) runs Sam’s pins at, just watch your shins!
The Horizon will come in 5 different body options- Horizon Pro, Horizon (both alloy bodies) and Horizon Comp (composite body). The other two models form the figure head of the Sam Hill Signature series: Horizon Sam Hill Pro and Horizon Sam Hill. For the ultimate performance the pro models use a gold Titanium axle to shave off that extra weight (382g per pair), with the standard Horizon using a CroMo axle. TheCroMo axle version (430g per pair) of the Sam Hill pedal will have a Green axle too to hark back to Sam’s native Australia.
The all new Horizon comp (318g per pair) will be the same shaped body as the rest of the Horizon range, offering you comfort grip and a variety of colors
As the poster on Sam Hill’s wall say’s “flat pedals, win medals”
The Horizon pedal range is now available via all good Nukeproof stockist.
