Jacob Dickson wins Youth at IDMS

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Irish youth rider Jacob Dickson attended the first iDMS of 2012 to take the win in the Youtb category plus 6th fastest time of the day. Here’s Jacob’s report from the weekend.

"I arrived at the track on Saturday morning around 9:00 am . When i got there i walked the track, it looked really loose and and the new top section looked really fun.  Around 10:30am I went up for my first run down the track which was riding great and the top section was really tricky and catching everyone out.  In all I got 6 runs in, which was good because the uplifts were very slow.  After practice I felt very comfortable on the track and at the end of the day i went home for a good night sleep and get ready for the race on Sunday.

On Sunday my dad and I left early to get the first uplift of the day but I just missed it and got the 2nd one up. I managed to get 2 runs in and then went up for my seeding .  Seeding run was good until the end and i thought I was off when I came to the last fire road when I over jumped this wee jump before the fire road . When I came down I was in first, 8 seconds in the lead over Luke Cornforth in 2nd.  I thought I was not going to be in the lead by that much i was very confident for the race run.  I was up at the top of the hill for my race run I had everything dialled and really looking forward to do my race run.  I had a good run and won the race by 6 seconds over Luke . I wwas really happy with my run and my time and now i am looking forward to the frist BDS in April.
