The all new alloy Reactor Comp features a custom triple butted hydro-formed 6061 aluminium tube set with UD carbon seat stays. Why Carbon Seat stays? Partially it is the way we have designed the reactors linkage, but crucially they help reduce the un-sprung weight; making the suspension as active as possible, giving the Comp, Expert and Alloy Frame sets the best feel on the trail possible.
The alloy Reactor is available for 27.5” or 29” wheel sizes. Designed separately to be compromise free frames albeit developed alongside each other to ensure both wheel sizes offer a best in class ride. Each frame wheel size simply tailored around each wheel size.
All new Nukeproof Frames will also feature high quality enduro bearings. This should ensure smooth movement and longevity of the bearings in all conditions (with maintenance).
To ensure the bike could climb as well as it descends, we designed the 4 bar horst linkage to have higher levels of anti-squat for climbing gears but lower levels when you drop down the cassette. This means that the bike can behave itself on the climbs but when you get it up to speed, it turns into a trail hooligan. The combination of low anti-squat and progressive rate give ultimate small bump compliance (removes rough trail and root chatter) with good mid stroke support for cornering/pumping and end stroke progression for aggressive riding. Balanced anti-rise figures allow the Reactor some squat when braking hard, maintaining rider position and providing a good amount of pressure through the tyre to ensure traction. The Reactor is designed to reward the rider and ensure you get that stoke factor in on any ride.
On the Comp upfront there is 150mm travel or 140mm on the 290, using the latest Rockshox Revelation RC. The Revelation RS has stiff 35mm upper legs to give good feeling and more control with the front of the bike and features the highly tunable Debonair spring which gives a consistent feel through the travel. You can also custom tune the fork with Rockshox’s bottomless tokens to match your riding style and preference. Out back is the Rockshox Super Deluxe Select R shock. The look, performance and tunable Debonair spring of the rest of the Super Deluxe range, but in a straightforward package. Featuring Maxima Plush fluid, it’s the perfect place to start honing in those riding skills.
Also featuring the all new Sram SX 12 speed Eagle drivetrain. SX is designed to be be quiet, consistent performance and durable. The simple 1x set up offers a massive range from it’s 11-50t cassette it will help you up the steepest of climbs and hammer the descents.
All Reactor frames feature a “flip chip” to adjust the geometry from “Trail” to “Rail mode”.
Trail – As the name suggests, this setting is best suited for trail riding. It is for riders who get as much enjoyment from the climb as the descents.
Rail – The Rail setting turns the Reactor into a corner shredder, dropping the bottom bracket 6mm and slackening the head angle by half a degree. It is there to maximise the descending capabilities.
All Reactors will come with the tyre combo of 2.4″ Maxxis Assegai/ Minion DHR II both ready for the trail in the 3C MaxxTerra/EXO+ combo. These combine a decent weight trail ready tyre offering awesome grip and protection in all conditions.
