The Nukeproof Junior team raced at the second round of the SDA at Fort William, Scotland, last weekend getting in some practice ahead of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at the same venue in a few weeks time.

The guys arrived late on Friday night due to a late start as Chris had to take an AS Level exam on the Friday morning. Off the boat and after a long drive, they arrived at Fort William to typical Scottish weather conditions and got into practice first thing Saturday morning.

During racing on Sunday Dan ended up on the podium in third place while Chris placed sixth following their first run.

Unfortunately due to a large amount of casualties on Sunday during the first race run, the second race run was cancelled and the first run positions held.

Dan told us: "Sunday came quick and I was ready for my race run. I had a pretty good run and stayed smooth. I didn’t pedal as much as I could have at the bottom as I was leaving that for the second run, which ended up getting cancelled. I finished third in Juniors which I was happy with and I’m feeling good for the World Cup."

Meanwhile, Chris finished up in sixth place, "My race run was going great, I was just trying to hold it all out and give it everything. I got to the woods section and crashed into a tree, got going as quick as I could and just emptied myself on the bottom section of the track to try and make up for lost time. I came down and my time was only good enough for sixth place – two seconds off the podium.  It was great to get used to the track for the up-coming World Cup event."

The next event for the Nukeproof Junior team is the BDS at Glencoe ahead of the Fort William World Cup.
