Nukeproof components rider Jacob Dickson took fifth place in the BDS at Glencoe last weekend.  Here’s his rundown of the weekend.

We arrived at Glencoe about 1:00 pm Friday as you could ride the track until 3pm so I managed to get three runs, it was good, had a real flowy top section and the rest was really step and very rocky, it’s meant to be the roughest track in the UK .

On Saturday I didn’t have to rush in the morning because I did 3 runs on Friday about 11:00 am I went up with Nukeproof rider Dan Sheridan to have a rip down. We found lots of good lines and managed to get six runs of the track in.  I felt good on the track the bike was working good and I felt ready for Sunday’s race.

On Sunday I woke up to rain.  I had to get up about half seven because the race started earlier.  I went up for a run with Chris McGlinchy and I got 3 runs in before seeding.  The track was riding really good. In seeding I had a crash on the top section and came down in 5th.  In my race the track was so beat up but my run was not fast but solid because if you went fast you would of crashed.  I came down in 5th place.  I was so happy with a top 5.  I achieved 1 of my goals on the 2012 BDS season .

I could not have done it without my Dad , Garry at MBW racing , Kona Bikes & Nukeproof.
