Sam Hill Flying in Chile

“Sam Hill & CRC-Mavic dominate EWS Rd 1”

What a race! The Enduro World Series in Lo Barnechea, Chile was simply incredible. Huge stages, anti grip dust and an incredible result for Sam Hill, CRC- Mavic & Nukeproof to kick off the title defence.

Sam was on another planet this weekend winning by over 30 seconds

Nigel Page:

“The tracks here in the High Andes were wild to stay the least – ridiculously high speed, rough, loose and super long with a couple of stages with huge amounts of cardio effort needed from pedal power also. Stage two was the longest stage in EWS history and stage one must have been the fastest ever downhill stage in mountain biking history. With three stages on Saturday and three on Sunday, Sam convincingly won the race in a time of 55:02.18. 36 seconds ahead of GT’s charging Martin Maes and 1:25 ahead of Ibis Cycles’ Robin Wallner.

The tracks had some of the fastest high speed sections we have ever seen in a MTB race and Sam’s riding was a clinic in what is possible on a mountain bike, with high speed drifts and crazy commitment to the rough loose sections. Enjoy some of the video clips of Sam’s riding. He is a once in a generation two wheeled maniac!”

Room with a View- Santiago was an awesome back drop

Sam was just incredible in the corners with his Horizon Pro Flat pedals
First of many… hopefully
CRC-Mavic new boy Kelan Grant had a baptism of fire on the anti grip dust & rocks. some fine stage performances were blotted by a few crashes and a puncture on stage 2. With Columbia just round the corner we are sure you will see the rapid man back.
Tough start- but it will come good
Elliott Heap was in fine form in the U21’s, Winning 3 of the 6 stages. Unfortunatly a mechanical on stage 2 ment he lost to much time to be in with a shot of the overall, but an impressive 1st, 1st & 4th  on day 2 saw him claw back the time to an awesome 5th overall.
Strange signature that Sam?

The Chilean crowd was out of this world, lining the wildest parts of the stages. Sam is like a national hero here in South America, the fans were even supporting Sam on the transitions up to each stage. Thank you Chile!
Huge thank you to magical mechanic Jacy for keeping the bikes running perfectly & Bike Planet Chile for the awesome hosting of the team. Amazing photos from Matt & Kike, and radical team edit from Salva (to come).
Nigel & the team leave today for the next round in Columbia
