The top half of steep rock shutes and steps with hairpin corners and awekward traverses remained unchanged, but as we crossed the fireroad at the halfway point much of the remaining track had changed into a fast flowy affair that was taped wide and offered line choice. There was rock gardens and roots as well as a few hucks and was fast all the way to the line. This was the best I have seen Dunkeld and was without doubt one of my favourite tracks of the last couple of seasons. It even stayed dry and warm all weekend.
Uplift was efficient and I just kept wanting to do more runs in practice and managed 7 in all when the day had finished. It was fun and I felt I was riding well and carrying good speed so was looking forward to race day. I managed 2 runs on race day morning before heading up for my 1st race run.
I had a good run and hit most sections fast with very little mistakes to cross the line in a time of 2.16 which I was pleased with. Neil Wilson ( Alpine Bikes) came down further back in 2.25 and then David Tallontire (Uplift Scotland) came in posting an incredible time of 2.07 which was going to be hard to better.
2nd Run I stayed off the brakes as much as I could and felt I had gone well to come down in a slightly faster 2.15 with wilson posting a 2.26 and Tallontire proving his dominance by crossing the line in 2.08 to take a well deserved win.
Next Race: BDS Rnd 5 Bringewood.
