After a few weeks since Round 1 at Leamington it was time for the team to head down south for Round 2 of the British 4x series in Penhurst Kent on one of the Longest and quickest tracks on the Calendar. Gale force winds and torrential rain did not help to the conditions over the weekend.

After a few weeks since Round 1 at Leamington it was time for the team to head down south for Round 2 of the British 4x series in Penhurst Kent on one of the Longest and quickest tracks on the Calendar. Gale force winds and torrential rain did not help to the conditions over the weekend.

So Sunday morning came after not many people riding Saturday’s practice session due to the weather. The Team were looking fast as always in practice working on there lines and track speed. Once practice was over and gate practice was about to start the gate broke which then meant we had no choice but to start the race using the old skool style Manual gate system which really mixed things up for everyone. The Team knew it was crucial to get a good position into the first corner  as it was hard to put a move on further down the track due to there only being one quick line. Fitness was going to play a big key with the track being so wet and sticky and drying up over the day.

Elliot  had a shakey first moto coming in 3rd, he  was pretty disappointed with that which put fuel in the fire. I realy enjoyed the first corner, , with confidence to realy get into the first corner and cut it up  meant   a 1st and a 2nd   in his  next moto’s. This meant  he was straight into the  semifinals  which he had a easy run in to finish 2nd and a place in the A final. Elliot really had his work cut out in having Last gate pick which gave him lane 4 and some really work to do, As Elliot came into the first turn from the gate level he went wide round the outside berm but as he kept his speed everyone else we to the inside and cut him off so he got caught up and came to a dead stop, From there no opportunity came for a pass and he crossed the Line with a 4th which he was stoked about.

Dom  didn’t have a great first moto getting dq’d  but coming back from that in true style and some great riding he ended up with a 1st and a 2nd place which would put him straight into the semi finals. Dom got a good start but then was blocked in the first turn which meant he would have to settle for the B final after sliding out further down the track. Dom had the 2nd gate pick in the B final and out the gate with the snap he squared off the first corner with everyone behind getting caught up meaning it was a easy win and 5th overall. He was very please with his first podium of the year.

Josh had a great start to the weekend getting Two 1st and 4th despite having the outside gate pick in most heats he put his power and speed to use. Josh got the quarterfinals with ease after getting the Snap and leading all the way to the finish . Semifinal Josh came out the gate shoulder to shoulder ending up coming out the first turn in third putting the pressure on down the straight he then took the inside line to put a move on 2nd place but ended up sliding out  and putting his bars out of line. Josh made the B Final and would finish the weekend in 7th. He was disappointed but will be back fighting hard .

Nate came into this race full of confidence after his last result but had a mixed bag of results despite looking like he would be up there and finishing moto’s with a 1st , 3rd and 2nd . This would give him a place in the quarter final . He came out the gate just behind 1st place and with the inside got taken out from 3rd place which then took him down ending his weekend early which he was not happy about.  He will be back fighting hard in Poland next week at Round 2 of the 4x Protour.

Cai had a bad start getting out the snap in his 1st moto before crashing on the exit of the first corner leaving him to finish in 4th. The next heats he finished up with 2nd and a 1st advancing him to the Semi finals. This left Cai with a poor 3rd gate choice and despite battling into the first corner bar to bar he went down which gave him a spot in the B Final.  He went on to win the B final  to  secure a 5th  place on the podium.
