Chris and Ben from the team headed to the 2nd round of the IDMS this weekend which was at a new venue to Irish downhill Mt Leinster.

The track was very different to what most riders were used too. Chris had this to say about the track. "It was great to be riding at a new venue, the track was very challanging as it was scattered with rocks the whole way down. You had to carry good momentum the whole way down the track and try not to get thrown off line"

The pair were practising togeter all day  on saturday and managed 6-7 runs before they called it quits. Here’s Bens take on saturday practise,  " After a good solids day of practice on Saturday riding with Chris I felt flat out and confident for Sunday race day"

Sunday morning rolled up and the guys were feeling good 1st off in seeding was Ben and he came down into 3rd place, Chris also came down into 3rd place in Elites only 3 seconds off the top spot.

The clouds darkened and it looked more and more likley that the forecasted rain was going to arrive in time for the race runs. Ben was fired up after his seeding and was having a great run until he had a moment near the bottom half of the track. Here is what Ben had to say about his run. " I was riding really well in my run untill near the bottem i got pretty wild and went off track and hit a tree , apart from that it was a great weekend and I ended up in 3rd place despite the crash"

The heavens opened and the rain started falling a few categorys before the Elites were off. Chris was wanting to improve on his 3rd place finish in seeding here is how his run went. " I started off great, hit the top section really good and then got out into the open and started to struggel with the grip as the rain had made it a different track. I was finding it hard to stay smooth and on my line and this cost me alot of time. I came down and did a 1.47, 4 seconds slower than my seeding run. I was dissapointed in my run but still managed to salvage 3rd in Elites"

The next stop for Chris is a race in Bulgaria and then the Team will all meet up for the British Round in Fort William the following week. Thanks again to all our Team sponsors for their constant support. Nukeproof, Schwalbe, Nema, Eight.ie
