After 2 weeks since the the teams last race at Redhill the Uk has been having some pretty horrendous weather which meant Bridgenorth had to be cancelled and with only a few days to find another suitable venue for the double header which would include British 4x series Round 4 on the Saturday and National champs on the Sunday .

Harthill came forward which was a well recognised track as holding last years National Champs. With new people in charge everyone was happy with the choice. With Elliot riding downhill and Nate still injured just Cai , Dom and Josh would be flying the teams flag at the weekend.

British 4x Round 4

Dom

Saturday was an interesting day for me after hoping for a dry race and getting very much the opposite, with a very wet track and a somewhat rutted few corners. I have has some pretty bad races at Harthill in the past  so I had a  pretty low amount of confidence . My first moto was a bit of a hectic on after coming 3rd in a race with Jordan Lunn and Jo Malinson but I manged to recover from this somewhat beasty moto and get two 1st places  putting me into the semi finals. It was pretty much the same as my first moto having a poor lane choice and at Harthill it’s Vital to have a inside gate. So I went into my B-final and won that quick comfortably to take 5th place and a spot on the podium

Cai

On Saturday Cai went well in his moto’s . In his first he ended up 3rd with that being his worst. He went on to get a to get a first and a second in the next two moto’s which would secure him a place in the semi finals. Feeling good Cai pretty much followed first place down to the finish securing a place in the A final. Lining up on the gate Cai got a decent start and followed in 2nd until halfway down before 3rd place went tight on me up the inside also allowing 4th through aswell, he tried to catch up but just couldn’t make any places back finishing 4th overall. Cai  was still pleased with his podium place.

Josh

Saturday’s Weather conditions were bad as the track started to get very wet and there was standing water starting to form , with heavy rain falling until half way through practice the Sun then came out which really started to dry the track and quick allowing a lot more grip in the corners. I felt quick through practice also hitting the pro-line gave me confidence coming into racing. Moto 1 Josh got a good snap leading the other riders all the way for a easy win. Moto 2 was much the same getting the snap and leading them all the way without anyone challenging him for the lead, Josh again got the Snap in moto 3 and took the win. This would take Josh straight to the Semi finals and with 3 wins he would get the first gate pick and would choose lane 1 , Coming out the gate Josh was away again and led them all taking the Win and putting himself into his first A final of the season. Josh chose gate 1 getting the snap again and leading coming into the pro-line but he took the small line leaving one of the other riders to get through and get a bike length ahead , coming up on the second to last corner he tried to muscle his way round the outside hitting a drainage hole loosing speed and having to settle for 3rd. Josh was very happy with his performance and hopes to build on it .

 Cai

On Sunday I raced better than the previous day quaifing for the semi finals after results of 1st , 1st and 2nd . I won the semi’s putting me through into the A final. Getting an ok gate I came out in 2nd following first all the way to the last corner where I chose a solid line but still the rider behind tried to get past with a tighter line  but I held my line and he went down securing my second place. It was a fun weekend of racing and looking forward to the next round

Josh:

I had a really disappointing race (my worst race of the season) finishing 2nd in my first moto then two 3rd places . This would line me up in the quarters  using the same tactics as the previous day but things didn’t seem to work out. Not being able to the the snap and feeling slow against my rivals . I had a big crash in my second moto shattering the peak on my helmet and spraining my ankle meant my day came to a end early.

Dom

The Track much dryer after yesterdays race, I was already feeling better on my bike and having a bit more fun. The story of my moto’s turned out to have exactly the same results so 3rd , 1st , 1st . I managed to lead out the gate in the semi finals all the way to the finish booking my place in the A final. My A final was delayed from other riders on course getting injured. When it finally came down to our final moto points and semi final positions didn’t seem to make a difference meaning we were in the wrong lanes. The Final was a battle all the way from start to finish with Joe Mallo in front of me all the way down with me trying some lines and failing and the one time I overcleared the proline I lost a lot of speed , the fight was over and I came in 3rd overall. I had a great weekend of racing

Another great weekend for the Team on a whole, We will be back to full strength for the next round in 4 weeks at Sw extreme in Devon with Elliot back and Nate returning from injury both looking for wins.
