My dad and I arrived at the track on Friday night at midnight so we couldn’t walk the track until Saturday morning.  Saturday came and I got up really early to walk the track, however I found it didn’t really suit me the very best because there was a flat pedally section in the middle of the track.  The tracks  top and bottom was more my thing it was switch backs and jumps.  I went up for my first run of the day with Michael the owner of Nukeproof.  The track was really fun and flowed better than I thought plus it had a 35 ft road gap in it.  At the end of the day I got like 7/ 8 runs done what was really good because every one else only got 5.  After practice I walk the track with my team mates Cam and Luke, it was looking good for the race on Sunday, I couldn’t wait to race.

On Sunday I got up early for the uplift because they were very slow . I managed to get 2 practice runs in before the seeding.  As I hadn’t raced in the Youth category before my position wasn’t great.  After seeding I was sitting in 8th place, which was great as I was aiming for a top 10 because I felt like the track didn’t suit me.

By this stage i was ready for my race run and before my race run at the top I gave the track one last think over in my head.  My run went really well and I placed 7th, one better than seeding. I was also the fastest rider who was racing their first year in Youth and found myself just one second off 5th place so next time my aim is for a podium.

We made the long journey home in the boat and now I look forward to the next round which takes place in Fort Williams, hopefully this track will suit me a lot better.
