Val d’Isere – Nukeproof Team

Chris and Dan were unable to walk the track as they arrived a day late so took a cautious 1st run down the track. First impressions were good, here is what Dan had to say. "The track was sick with loads of sweet turns and big hucks to flat – was looking forward to getting up to speed on "

Unfortunately on their 2nd run of the day Chris had a massive crash near the top of the track and had to be air lifted off the mountain. The crash resulted in 2 fractured vertebra and a broken wrist! We are all wishing him a speedy recovery. The rest of the day was great for both Greg and Dan as they were getting up to full speed. Greg's words on how practise went, "Practice was amazing loved the track proper fast, rough old school track, very fun." Here is a head cam of the pair in action.

Qualifying was next on the agenda and after a few hours of training in the morning the guys were ready for putting in a good run. Greg was up first and unfortunately got caught up in a bad rain storm and rode a little cautious this cost him and he just missed out by a few seconds. Dan was up next and here is his thoughts before his run "Just before I left, after about 30 riders had been down the heavens opened and it started pissing down with rain. I got my rain kit together and headed up, only to get stuck in another thunder storm on the lift and got soaked! At the top and just before my run a 3rd rain shower came, so I knew it was going to be hard to make the cut! Tear offs and mud guards on I warmed up on the turbo and then went to the start gate." A big crash near the top of the track slashed any chances of him making the cut. Luckily he escaped without any injuries.

Not the best weekend in the office for the team but a great experience none the less.

Big thanks to the team sponsors: Nukeproof, Schwalbe, Nema,, Phunkt and also the medical crew for helping Chris get off to hospital safely.
