The BDS Crew put on a great event for the competitors who turned up for round 3 of the series at the mighty Glencoe Track. It was marked slightly wider in places which opened up a few new lines not normally available.

The track was as tough as ever but still fun to ride and constantly pushed my limits.

With a whole day to practice and the chairlift moving at a decent pace with very little queueing it was possible to put in as many runs as you wanted.

I did 6 runs and then walked the track scouting for lines before doing another 2 and finished the day happy with things.

Overnight rain made the track a bit slicker in places and a few holes had appeared in some sections which made the going a bit harder. I put in 2 practice runs before heading up for my qualifying run.

I was going for maximum points this weekend as always and since qualifying runs carry points I had to put in a good one.

I got good power off the start and carried speed well down the hill keeping the flow going over the steep rocks and turns and quickly arrived at the finish to go into 1st with Stevie Boyd (BikeLove) 2nd  and steve Felstead (T2R) 3rd.

My race run went well apart from one small mistake which cost a bit of time and I put in a time of 2:51 which sealed me the win with Stevie Boyd finishing 2nd 15 secs adrift and Steve Felstead coming in 3rd.

I was happy with the way things went and have been changing a few settings on the bike which seem to work well. Gaining maximum points at this round have now put me in the series lead with 3 rounds still to come.

Big thanks to all marshals & medics on the bleak hillside all weekend and the enthusiastic Glencoe Mountain Resort Folks.

Next Race: Scottish Champs, Fort William
