“Flood of Podiums for Nukeproof at Ae Forest”

Great start to the British Downhill Series for the Nukeproof team.  In what has become one of the most competitive Elite race series in the world all three CRC-Paypal athletes making it on to the podium. Mike Jones in an excellent 2nd position, just missing out by 0.462 of a second to current World Champion Gee Atherton. Joe Smith a creditable  4th and new junior rider Elliott Heap also 4th in a stacked junior field.

Nukeproof athletes topped the Podium in both Masters with wins for Wideopen teams Kye Forte and Team MTB Ride Guide Alastair MacLennan.

Ae Forest provided the riders with a stern test in a short track. A mix of fast natural shoots, roots and plenty of features to test the riders and bikes.

Wideopen Magazines team riders put in a great show with BMX legend Kye Forte winning his first BDS race in Masters and Richard Thomas in 14th in elite (despite retiring from elite level racing!). In a highly competitive junior category, Charlie Hatton endured a tough start to the season, with a big crash in his race run, but managed to recoup to a solid 15th. Youth rider Joe Partfitt showed his hard work in pre-season has paid off, narrowly missing the podium, despite loosing a cleat from his shoe at the start of his run.

Irish Nukeproof Development Rider Jack Crowley managed a very credible 11th position on his first  year in the BDS Juniors catagory.

Full listing of results are on:

Next BDS Race will be in the “World Cup warm up” event Fort William, Scotland on 16th/ 17th May

Good luck to the team who are now off to this weekends Downhill World cup, Lourdes, France.
