“World Cup Downhill is back”

Next week the world cup Downhill Circus rolls back into town. Round 1 is hotly anticipated taking place at a brand new venue in Lourdes, France.

Nukeproof is represented by its strongest line up of athletes. Once again Nukeproof presence will be run by the CRC-Paypal team.

Sam Hill is back to lead the team, after a successful campaign in 2015 winning the teams first World Cup Rounds. Sam will be battling hard to regain his crown he held in 2007 and 2009.  Partnering Sam will again be Joe Smith and Mike Jones.

Joe will be riding full of confidence after winning the last round of the British Downhill Series in 2014 at Bike Park Wales and a successful training camp in Portugal. Mike Jones, will be once again out to prove himself against the best, now in his second year in elites and fresh from a 10 week trip to Australia with Sam, which included a trip to compete at the world famous Crankworx event in New Zealand. Joining the team this year in the Junior World Cup will be Elliot Heap, a first year junior with a successful Motorcross background and who racked up some impressive results in Britain last year. The teams maestro, downhill legend Nigel Page will be once again running the show and making sure all the team operations run smoothly.

The UCI have posted some information about each round and the teams involved. Don’t forget to complete the survey at the end to tell everyone which event you are looking forward to the most!
