Nukeproof Mega 275 Carbon Factory Bike

Since 1995, the infamous Megavalanche DH marathon race has been synonymous with big all-mountain riding. Starting at the highest point on Pic Blanc (3300m) above the village of Alpe D’Huez; it is seen as the pinnacle of mass start mountain bike racing around the world.

Originally conceived in 2009 as the perfect bike for this exact style of racing, the Nukeproof Mega was born. Now in its 4th evolution, the Mega should need no introduction. It has tasted success within multiple disciplines and has numerous national and international race wins to its name.

Designed to excel on the toughest enduro tracks, the gravity focused Mega will inspire confidence on the most technical descents whilst maintaining pedalling efficiency for all-day epics in the saddle.

Updated Sizing

With the demands of the Enduro World Series races progressing at a rapid rate, sizing and fit have become more critical than ever. As a result, we have added a new Medium-Long size to the range for 2020. The seat tube length stays the same as the Medium, whilst the reach has grown to 452.5mm which sits exactly in the middle between a size Medium and a Large. With a total of 5 sizes now in the range (S, M, ML, L and XL), there should be a perfect size for everyone.

Leaning on our experience from the development of our award-winning Horizon Carbon handlebar range, we spent 4 years developing the new Mega 275 Carbon frame. Utilising a blend of the highest quality carbon fibre composites, the Mega 275 Carbon has been hand crafted with 1 goal in mind… winning!

Not only is the chassis now significantly lighter than its aluminium counterpart, the strength, stiffness and reliability of the frame has been vastly improved enabling every rider to push harder, faster and with more confidence than ever before.

Tested and proven on the toughest of terrain and in the most varied conditions by Enduro World Series Winner Sam Hill, the 2020 Mega 275 Carbon sets out to tackle every ride with its trademark attitude.

Some tips on how to set up your Mega 275c:

Sam Hill, Nukeproof athlete:

As Sam runs on a Stock Rockshox Super Deluxe and Rockshox debonair:

Fork- 25% 2 spacers (gray) rebound -8(fully closed then turned out, counter clockwise) compression +5

Rear shock- 30% 2 spacers rebound -6(6 clicks out from full slow) compression +2

Nigel Page, Team CRC-Mavic Team Manager:

1 – 2 tokens in my fork and don’t have any bands in the rear of my shock

Sag I’d go for just shy of 30% front and rear.

Start with about 6 clicks of rebound back from all the way slow and go from there. Some riders prefer 1 or 2 clicks slower or faster. Same on the Shock and Fork.

Dale, Nukeproof engineer:

Tokens in forks – 1 as standard

Bands in rear shock – 0 tokens

Sag/ pressure in fork – this is personal preference (I use 75-80 psi)

Sag/ pressure in shock – 30% sag (I use 170 psi)

Clicks of compression – no adjustment on rear shock – 3 clicks of low speed compression on fork.

Clicks of rebound –  I use 4 clicks on, riding clips
